Helping children, families, & communities thrive since 1974.

An investment in high quality childcare is an investment in a community’s future.

As a closely-knit community, prioritizing the quality of care that our children receive not only fosters individual growth but also guarantees a substantial return on investment for society as a whole. A nurturing and supportive environment during the crucial early stages of childhood development lays a strong and lasting foundation for a successful society. Furthermore, it plays a vital role in preventing the heartbreaking and costly consequences associated with childhood abuse and neglect, which can have long-lasting, detrimental effects on individuals and communities alike.

Head Start Birth to Five

Family Sprouts

Head start birth to five, We provide high-quality childcare services that are specifically designed to effectively support low-income families within our community. Our comprehensive programs aim to create a nurturing and educational environment for children while alleviating some of the financial burdens faced by these families.

Clubhouse School Age Program

Thrivalaska’s Clubhouse Before and After School Care program is specifically designed for school-age children, providing them with a well-structured environment that effectively supports their overall development and nurtures their social skills. This thoughtfully crafted programs caters to the diverse needs of working parents, offering engaging and enriching activities along with attentive supervision both before school starts in the morning and after it concludes in the afternoon. Through these initiatives, children have the opportunity to grow, learn, and form lasting friendships in a safe and welcoming atmosphere.

Family Sprouts serves infants, toddlers and preschool age children. Our infant and toddler classroom is designed to offer parents a familiar, safe, and nurturing environment for their baby and/or child. The infant and toddler programs are mixed; however, a portion of the room is set up to be a quiet space for babies and the toddlers respect this with occasional reminders. Wobblers and toddlers are changing from dependent babies to independent children and many physical, social-emotional, and cognitive skills are mastered during this time. The toddler program offers self-directed play and teacher-directed activities such as finger painting, coloring and gluing, and water play. Our preschool classroom for children ages three to five years emphasizes building confidence, positive self-image, and social skills needed for working within a group of peers. Throughout the preschool program, opportunities for physical, emotional, social, and intellectual development are presented through self-chosen exploration and discovery.
